Fifty websites a second: what the number means, and why your browser takes longer

The SoNET Web Engine's gauge with the words: 50+ websites a second, generated through the API on a 2007 Dell PowerEdge with two Xeons and 8 GB of RAM

The SoNET Web Engine creates over 50 complete websites a second through its API. That number is easy to say and easy to misread, so here is what it counts, what it runs on, and what it changes for the people who use it.

What counts as "a website"

Not a page, and not a template copied into a folder. Each one is a whole working site: its pages, its own data structures, a blog, galleries, a store with payments, forms, member logins, an admin panel for its owner, and an installable app. When the engine finishes, the site is live and can be edited straight away.

What it runs on

The figure comes from a Dell PowerEdge server bought in 2007: two Xeon processors and 8 GB of RAM. By today's standards that is a modest machine. The speed comes from the way the engine is built, not from the hardware under it.

At over 50 a second, each site takes about two hundredths of a second. That is over 180,000 websites an hour from one old server.

Why your browser takes longer

Press "Start my demo" on website-kiosk.com and your new site appears in two or three seconds. On 28 October 2026 we timed it three times: the server answered in 0.80 to 0.86 seconds, and the finished site was open, signed in, after 2.67 to 2.83 seconds.

Almost all of that is not the engine. It is the trip across the Internet to your device, and the time your browser takes to download and draw a full page with its pictures and fonts. The engine's own share is the smallest part of the wait.

What the number changes

  • A site at the moment of sign-up. A service can create a customer's website while they are still on the sign-up page, instead of opening a project.
  • Demos that are real. Every demo at website-kiosk.com is its own site, not a shared sandbox, and it costs nothing to make another.
  • Partners at scale. Providers can generate sites for their own customers through the API, which is REST-based with OData and OAuth 2.0.
  • Less admin per site. Every site comes out complete and the same way, so one webmaster can look after many more of them.

Why it matters to an owner

Nobody needs fifty websites a second for themselves. What the number tells you is how little work is left between "I need a website" and a site that is live, fast and complete. The same engine that builds them that quickly also serves them quickly: on 28 October 2026 Google PageSpeed Insights scored lpk7.com 99 on mobile and 100 on desktop.
